one word, two dimensions

For over 200 years this house has been a place where people gathered. Pilgrims, hikers, climbers, and the like. Each on their own quest but unified in the admiration of nature embracing them. Some were just passing by but many of them stayed in this little village. Some for a day, some for life. They just knew they were at the right place ... at the right time.

We have named our hostel Kronotop. One word for two dimensions. Chronos means time and topos means space. They define the beginning of every tale, every legend, every memory. And yours could go something like this:

"One summer time beneath the Mangart mountain ... "

Hello! Sara and Matej here

On our first travels as a couple we noticed how well can the charm of a town be portreyed in a local hostel. It seems like the hostels encapsulate and enhance the vibe and the beauty of their reigon.

And since Triglav National Park has so much beauty to offer we soon started yearning to become hosts ourselves.

Soča valley is our home, and we enjoy meeting people who admire the pristine nature as much as we do. We want to show it all to you! But only in the best possible way - the local way. With best tips, activities and providers.

We opened the Kronotop Hostel in 2022. Though our work is not done yet, we can say that Kronotop definitly catches the atmosphere of the valley. Calm but majestic like the mountains around us. Serene but vibrant like the two gorgeous rivers, Soča and Koritnica.

In our mind, the hostel became the simbol of new beginnings. Wherever you look – the posibilities are almost endless. You can pack your days with trips, challenges and exploration and Kronotop will provide you with a place to rest. Without a worry of missing anything out.

This small family-owned hostel is situated in Log in the Triglav National Park, right under the Mangart mountain. It offers stunning views in every direction, especially towards the famous Log wall face. The hostel is easily accessible from the main road and also has a private, free parking lot.

The hostel's back yard is a lovely walled garden, complete with comfortable wooden chairs spread around the fire pit. Guests can relax there and take in the beautiful views. In the summertime, various events are held in the garden, with an emphasis on local food and culture.

This historical house is a former Austro-Hungarian era building and offers dormitories and private rooms with extra high ceilings and lots of windows. The total capacity is 36+ beds and the dining room can sit about 40 people. The professionally equipped kitchen is available for use.

The hostel's amenities include free breakfast, free wifi, and free parking. The hostel also organizes - at a discount! - outdoor adventure activities, such as: rafting, kayaking or canyoning tours, as well as other tours like caving, climbing, zip-lining, paragliding and mountain biking.

Some rooms have private restrooms but most have shared. All rooms come with a security box and fresh bed linen. There is also a lounge on the top floor where our guests can spend some time during the rainy days.
